Jack hasn't left the bar since he came in the other night. He hadn't been planning to stay when he'd come in, but now...
He's outside, looking at the gathering clouds and red sky, an unsettled feeling tickling up and down his spine, when he sees Doc heading toward the stables. He turns, heading for the stables, the snow crunching underfoot.
Jack glances behind him at the sky once more, that shiver running down his spine again. He'd think that his instincts were kicking in, but it would be hard not to get an ominous feeling from the atmosphere in the bar.
"Sure looks like something's coming. Anything I can do to help?"
It certainly feels like he should be able to do something around the bar, but then it's hard to know what to do when he has no idea just what's causing all this, or how any of his skills could possibly apply to the situation.
"I'm headed out t'check the stables. We had an awful explosion out in the woods the other day; nothin' broke loose that I could tell, but with this wind..."
Who knows what might blow loose.
"I could use a hand if I find anything's broken free, if you ain't busy."
"Not really. Don't have a lot to do in here at the moment, but I don't really want to leave, either," he says, falling into step next to Doc. "I heard about the explosion; were you here?"
"I wasn't outside. I felt it up in my room, though. It was like someone was blastin' out a tunnel into solid stone. Shook the floorboards and knocked a whole messa things off my desk"

The red glow that the sky casts across the snow is strange and unnatural, and Doc can't get used to it.
