A long, long time ago, Ray got extremely sozzled celebrating the birth of his good buddy Belgarion's daughter. At home, this would have resulted in little more than embarrassing singing, possibly but not necessarily including invocation of Abdul Al-Hazred the I Just Get These Headaches. In the Bar, for some reason, that kind of intoxication inevitably ends in mathematics. Lots of it. And marking up the walls. Ray hasn't really concerned himself too much with the wall equations in a while, but yesterday he'd been reading some extremely intriguing articles in Quantum Entanglement and Semiconductor Spintronics Quarterly, and when he came to the Bar today and went up to his room he happened to glance at the walls.

Amazing how things make sense if you leave them alone long enough.

Anyway, he went straight from his room to the Bar and deposited several fistfuls of synthetic opals, and then he took the pushcart full of electronic parts, wire spools, power cells, and the occasional bit of- whoops, no, the chicken fingers aren't actually part of whatever it is that he's building. He's just taking the opportunity to get some greasy fried protein while he works, don't mind him.
