There are two things Milliways does not usually do to Shephard. One, it does not usually surprise him unless he is going into a particular stall in the men's room. And two, it does not usually make the door disappear when he walks in.
Today is just full of surprises.
Sergeant-Major Adrian Shephard of the so-called Greenbrier First and Only is in a multicultural mood at the moment, which is to say that he's turning the air blue with the most vulgar samples he can manage of Dutch, Polish, Mexican Spanish, Malay, and a language that only a really dedicated anthropologist is likely to recognize as the Sateré-mawé tongue. Not that the amazingly pregnant houndeye at his heels cares, but the humans around him might.
He'll calm down. Eventually. But he's got a big vocabulary and he's likely to go through a lot of it before he accepts that the door's not there right now.
