One goddess of destruction/creation, among other things, stepping up to the bar.

She's eyeing the Specials board with mild interest.

...Well, now, that's interesting. Not often he meets fellow godly types from outside the family. (Which isn't to say it doesn't happen, it's just that the other pantheons tend to have spheres of influence that don't overlap with Olympus very often.)
"Can I get you something?"

"Atlantean," she says after a moment's pause, with no attempt at rhyming.

Well, nothing wrong with that, the rhyming's only there as an option.
"They still have that in stock? I'll have to keep that in mind. Just a glass or the whole bottle?"
That's not a question he'd ask of just anyone. But then, he's not sure he'd serve it to just anyone. It tends to be rough on the mortals.

"Mmm ... I think just a glass."

She rests one arm on the bartop and smiles.

"You got it."
He pours the glass, sets it down in front of her, and says, "So what's your gig, if you don't mind my asking?"

Red-laquered fingernails click lightly against the glass, and her eyebrows go up. "Gig?"

"Domain. I don't meet many godly types from outside my family, these days."

"Domain, I see." She considers the question for a moment.

"Destruction and creation," she says, at length. "Time and change. It's a little complicated."

Apollo nods. "I get complicated. I started with one thing, picked up five or six others as time went on."
Sometimes he figures he's the god of loose ends.

"What's yours, then?" She sips her drink.

"Poetry, music, prophecy, archery - granted, I share that one with my sister, but still - the sun. Little bit of everything."

Recognition comes into her eyes; she smiles. "Apollo."

"Right in one. And you would be... Kali, I presume?"
Hopefully she won't be too upset if he's wrong, but he feels safe in that educated guess.

"You presume correctly." Still smiling. "I suspect we're not from the same reality, but of the same kin nonetheless."

"Put it like that, I'm not even from the same reality as most of my family here." There's Thalia, but she's not family in the sense Apollo means here - for these purposes, the demigods don't count. (Sorry, kids.)
"Occupational hazard of coming in, though. Good to meet you."
