It’s a shame, really, that Dumbledore’s Army (newly formed) can’t come to Milliways en masse to train. It would be ever so convenient. Umbridge would certainly never ever catch them here. Luna had even suggested it to Anthony Goldstein and Cho Chang. Both of whom had looked at her uncertainly and gone on debating the merits of the Forbidden Forest vs. the Shrieking Shack.
But that doesn’t mean that Luna can’t practice here, herself. Especially while they’re still searching for a place where they can all learn Defense Against the Dark Arts together.
Wand in hand, Luna stares down a straight-backed chair in a quiet area of the bar. Then, with a quick flourish, casts her spell.
“Reducto!”
She doesn’t have much experience with these spells, but Luna is not a Ravenclaw for nothing. She’s a quick study. The chair blows up with a bang and a puff of smoke, knocking Luna smartly on her backside.
“Ooooof. Well.” She cautiously sits up, picking chips of wood out of her hair. “That’s going to take a bit of practice.”
Little good it’ll do to cast a spell in self-defense if it knocks you over.
