There's a somewhat bored-looking Manhattan detective standing behind the bar tonight, flipping through a large book. The Specials board is nearby and looks conspicuously empty.

After a while Munch straightens up, closes the book and writes something down on the board:

Tonight's Specials
All beer 50% off (bottled and draft)

"I'll take a beer," says Sunshine, taking a seat at the bar. "Whatever you reach for first will be fine."

She's not picky.

"No problem." He reaches into the refrigerator and pulls out a bottle of Old Style, and sets it down in front of her.

"Whew, thanks," she replies, taking a drink. "I needed something cold. It might be miserable and chilly outside, but it's still a furnace in the kitchens."

"Glad I could be of help," Munch responds.

"You do a lot of work in the kitchens?"

[sunbaked_baker]

"I bake to help pay for my tab, here," Rae replies. "Whatever extra I make is a nice bonus on top of my pay as a baker back home."

Her mention of baked goods triggers something in his memory. "You're the one who puts out all those pastries every so often, aren't you?"

"That's me," she grins. "We met briefly, didn't we?"
