First Entrance

After a particularly interesting arrival, Kanaya arrives at the back door with her sleeping friend still in her arms. It takes a moment of shifting and juggling around, but eventually the troll manages to coax the door open and takes a step inside-

Only to take a hasty step back with a muttered curse she's picked up from Karkat.

"Oh" she says,

In a suspiciously velvety-looking purple armchair in one dim corner, there rests a pale-haired young maiden, a tome of eldritch lore open upon her knees, eyes closed in what was meant to be merely a moment's rest.

In her curious inspection of her surroundings, Kanaya's gaze eventually falls on a familiar form. Rising, and with her palms inexplicably clammy, she pads over with soft footsteps.

"Rose"

The sound of her own name wakes her from her light doze, though it still takes a moment to sort the troll girl out from the visual blurriness.

"Yes. That is indeed the appellation by which I am referred. Might I inquire as to yours, as prior to finding my way to this bizarre place, I had little-to-no reference for the appearance of any troll, much less given individuals?"

"Ah" she says, raising a hand to rub at the back of her neck.

"My Apologies
I Had Forgotten That You Four Would Not Know Us By Our Signs
Or Its Colour

Rose raises an eyebrow.

"I take it there is a greater significance to the colour then?" If that is in fact the case, then it would be easy enough to deduce... "...Kanaya?"

The troll smiles brightly as Rose guesses her name, hand dropping from her neck.

"Indeed
It Is Very Nice To Finally Meet You Face To Face Rose"

Rose finds herself smiling back.

"I echo the sentiment. I am pleased to finally meet you in the flesh. Would I be correct in presuming that Karkat brought you here?"

[bloodyvirgo]

"In A Sense I Suppose" she responds.

"I Was Searching Through Dream Bubbles For Him And Found Myself Here And Standing In Front Of Him"

Blink.

"...Might I inquire as to the nature of these 'dream bubbles'? I have not previously heard of them."

Jack Killed Our Dream Selves And It Was

"I am sorry that that happened, but I am glad that someone was able to make things better. They are better now, I hope? For relative values of 'better', of course, given the increasingly desperate situation we have all found ourselves in."

Though Events Are Rapidly Approaching The Point Of No Return"

"I am still hoping to change things for the better."

"I Would Advise Against Focusing So Intently On Your Task That You Lose Sight Of The Larger Picture Rose"

"I would argue that my task is directly correlated with the ultimate outcome of the larger picture, but believe that that conversation would be retreading old ground, and thus a waste of both of our time." She pauses a moment, before smiling again.

"Have you yet availed yourself of some of the amenities of this locale?"

Kanaya mirrors the expression, happy to change the subject for now.

"I Am Afraid I Only Arrived This Morning
And A Good Deal Of That Was Spent Outdoors And Enjoying The Sun"
