> Nepeta: Ascend to the highest point of the bar.

Sep 26, 2011 23:16

A just-barely-adolescent catgirl troll is perched happily in the rafters, surveying the bar.

There's just something so satisfying about being where you can see everything and nothing can reach you.

the trickster (spn), nepeta leijon, karkat vantas, the cat (coraline)

Or so you would think.

Several rafters over, the shadow of something gray and triangle-shaped glides over the wood before vanishing again.

The furtive movement catches her eye. She goes still, staring at the spot where the shadow appeared.

All is silent in the rafters of the bar.

-- wait no there it is again! It's gliding in the opposite direction this time. Somewhere, the Jaws theme plays.

(No, literally. Listen. Duuuuuuuuh-dun.)

Nepeta flattens herself against the rafter, the very tip of her tail twitching.

Duuuuuuuuh-dun.

Claws are out and flying.

It looks something like this.

SQUEAK goes the shark as it is neatly impaled on one of her claws. Stuffing gently drifts down to the main bar like falling snow.

A few rafters over, a human-looking guy -- who's perched as easily as if this were a regular chair twenty feet below -- munches a bucket of popcorn with gusto, enjoying the show.

It's pretty impressive. She's murdering the shit out of that shark.

The fact that it's a stuffed toy doesn't seem to be detracting in any way from her apparent enjoyment.

"Oooh!" he says when its fin gets ripped off. "That's gonna hurt in the morning."

He tosses another piece of popcorn in a high arc, catching it in his mouth. The kernel has an M&M stuck to one side.

Claws full of stuffing, Nepeta glances up in the direction of the voice.

In the next second, she's perched on the rafter with no sign of the shark remaining, utterly still except for a tiny twitching at the tip of her tail, doing her best to look utterly innocent.

He toasts her with the bucket of popcorn.

"You kill that shark." Solemn. "You kill it good."

What shark? Nepeta knows of no shark!

(If she were crouched any lower, she'd be practically hiding behind the rafter.)

He smirks -- what? It's funny! -- and tips the bucket of popcorn toward her.

"Popcorn with M&Ms?"

Cautiously, she stretches her head toward him and sniffs the air.

"What is it?"

"...Popcorn? And M&Ms?"

:O!!!!, goes his face, totally aghast.

"You've never had it?"

Nepeta shakes her head wordlessly, her eyes enormous.
