Still, there are things to celebrate, and though he often drifts into melancholy, he's been feeling a bit more upbeat lately. The presence of a certain god of music in ( Read more... )

"I like this one."

Scorpius doesn't bother with a couch or chair, choosing instead to sit on the floor near Orpheus and the fire.

"It's nice."

Orpheus laughs softly as he continues to strum, always glad of an audience.

"It is nice, yes. Much more so than some of the others."

Though Scorpius only has the depressing Valentine's song to compare to?

"Much more. Does this, er - Mean you're happy?"

That and the spider-pouncing one...

"I have been recently, yes."

His song takes on a slightly playful turn. "And how have you been?"

Scorpius tires not to think about the spider-pouncing song.

"Happy too," he says.

With a dopey grin that tells all, really.

"What's got you so happy?"

Orpheus smirks in the face of that dopey grin.

"Something like what's got you so happy, I'd guess."

Didn't they decide on a no-smirking policy? Or was that wishful thinking on Scorpius' part?

"You've got yourself a boyfriend too, then?"

Definitely wishful thinking. Orpheus is sticking to that theory.

"I think he'd object to the term."

And he's still smirking. "But you've got one?"

"Albus. His name's Albus.

"Who's your bloke, and why would he object to the term? Have you tried smirking at him?"

"Good name. Is he cute?

"Apollo. And I've smirked at him a great many times."

"Gorgeous," Scorpius all but sighs.

Albus is as heart-quickening cute as Orpheus' smirk, really.

(Or so Scorpius thinks, because the other boy certainly does a number on him.)

He blinks out of his Albus daydream.

"Apollo-Apollo?"

Because there could be other Apollos.

Orpheus grins at that expression, happy to see it on Scorpius' face.

"Yes, Apollo-Apollo."

There's only one as far as Orpheus is concerned. In that...multiple worlds way.

"That's, er - Interesting."

They likely make a rather good-looking, smirk-y pair.

Yes, both of those.

"Interesting?"

"Interesting," Scorpius repeats with a decisive nod of his head.

Then he reconsiders: "Intriguing? Sort of - " He gestures vaguely. " - Yeah."

Orpheus smirks. That smirk.

"Curious?"
