Autumn, in Orpheus' opinion, is better than winter, though only slightly. The days are not as short as they will be, but sunlight is still more difficult to come by than he likes.

The music is nice and reminds William of a time when things seemed simpler and his family fit together.

He doesn't want to disturb Orpheus so he's quiet and listens from his seat near the fire.

Orpheus wraps up the song before too much longer and he smiles over at William.

"That was pretty,"
He feels like he should say more but the song caught him off guard with just how much he misses how things used to be.

Orpheus arches an eyebrow. "Pretty?"

He's not exactly offended, just...disappointed.

William's not that good at describing music,

"It made me think of home and when things were better. Sorry, ain't much good about talkin' about music."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus' smile returns. "That works well enough for a compliment. Thank you."

"Oh good, was that what you were tryin' to do?"

[golden_lyre]

"I wouldn't so much say it was deliberate, but it's the effect it should have had."

[not_his_pa]

"Can you do that with all the music you play?"

[golden_lyre]

He smiles, almost modestly.

Almost.

"I can."

[not_his_pa]

William knows he shouldn't be surprised by what gods or godlike folks can do here but he is,

"Do you do it a lot?"

[golden_lyre]

"I play for a living."

[not_his_pa]

"You must do well by it," Being related to gods must make it easy.

[golden_lyre]

"I do well enough."

Not as well as he could, but that's his choice.

"Can I get you a drink?"

He enjoyed the music but doesn't really have the money to pay in thanks.

[golden_lyre]

"I'd like that very much, thank you."

It's a fitting tribute as far as Orpheus is concerned.
