A young witch is sitting at the bar with a roll of parchment, a bottle of ink and a quill.
Luna and her father, like every other wizarding family in the vicinity of Ottery St. Catchpole, had sent a condolences card (along with a potted moon lily) to the Diggory family the day after Luna arrived home for the summer. It had seemed all too small a thing to do, but the Diggorys have, thus far, remained quietly close to home, and the rest of the community is giving them privacy to mourn.
But after some thought, Luna had hit upon something that she could do. When her mother had died, and it seemed like sorrow might swallow them whole, Dad had always reminded her, Remember the good things.
So now Luna is writing.
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Diggory,
I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about Cedric. I also wanted to tell you some about what a kind person he was. Cedric always looked out for people. I once saw him helping a pair of first years who accidentally broke a bottle of Poxing Powder in the corridor. Well, I’m sure you can imagine the result……
