There's a golden apple in her hand, and a small, sharp knife in the other. She starts to slice it, hands moving deftly, and it's odd: the apple looks as though it cannot decide if it is a Golden Delicious, or an apple made of gold.
"Are you at all familiar with Greek mythology, Richard?"
"Oh! excuse me."

She smiles.
"I haven't met you before."

And pulls back, leaving a plastic hand (that had shaken his just a moment before, with a good grip, hadn't it?) in his.
"I'm Eris. And likewise."

It floats up to sit on his shoulder, and scritches behind his ear.
