A few seats away from Tumnus sits a small dark-skinned girl. Her nose wrinkles slightly at the damp sheep smell, but she doesn't move away.

Once he has dealt with the worst knots in his leg fur, Tumnus looks up to start on his tea and sees Rue.

He smiles before saying, "Would you care to join me for tea?"

Rue blinked in surprise, not expecting that he would have noticed her let alone invited her for tea.

"Um...sure, okay."

Tumnus has a good friend who was once a little girl so he has a special fondness for them,

"Thank you. I believer there are more than enough scones to share and cream and jam."

She scoots closer, picks up a scone off of the plate, and smiles at him.

"Thanks. My name's Rue."

"My name is Tumnus and I'm a Faun from a land called Narnia,"

He prefers to explain all of this up front and he remembers how confused Lucy was by him.

"A...faun?" Rue tilts her head, puzzled. She's heard of many different kinds of animals and muttations living in District 11, and through the Games. But 'faun' is completely foreign.

"Yes, a Faun, that's why I have hooves."

"Did someone make you like that?"

"No, I have always been a Faun."

Rue pauses to nibble on her scone thoughtfully.

"Is everyone in Narnia a faun?"

"No, there are humans, dryads, naiads, Talking Animals, dwarves among others. Are there only humans in your home?"

"Mm-hm." She nods. "I mean, we have animals too, but they don't talk. Well, except for the jabberjays and mockingjays."

"I don't believe I know of any birds with those names. What are they like?"

"They're like regular birds, but jabberjays were muttations made by the Capitol; they can memorize what people say and repeat it, which is why the Capitol used them as spies during the Rebellion to find out what the people in the districts were talking about."

Rue pauses to take a sip of her tea.

"Mockingjays came from jabberjays mating with mockingjays. They can repeat things like jabberjays can, but they can only copy songs instead of talking."

"Who are the Capitol?"

He carefully sounds out the word as its one he's not familiar with and the birds purpose doesn't seem nice.
