There is a cheerful white-and-brown dog following the smell and finding a goat-human-creature the like of which he's never seen or smelled before.

A very perplexed canine sniffs at Tumnus' hooves.

Tumnus works through a tangle on one of his legs and ends up about level with Franz,

"Hello."

It talks like a human, so probably is some sort of human.

Franz gives a friendly 'Woof!' and licks Tumnus' fingers.

"Can you talk?"

It looks like a rather intelligent dog and they normally are wonderful conversationalists.

Franz wags his tail and woofs cheerfully again, but doesn't talk -- he's from the Disc, not Narnian.

He sniffs at Tumnus' fur. This goat-human seems very friendly!

"Oh, you can't. My name's Tumnus,"

He sets the comb he was using down and gives Franz a proper pet and scritch.

"His name is Franz," a deep voice says from high up, on the other side of the fireplace.

"Its good to meet you, Franz,"

Tumnus says and then looks for who spoke.

[scots_wolf]

It's a very tall and strong man with very long blond hair.

He nods to Tumnus.

[friend_of_lucy]

"Hello, do you know Franz?"

[scots_wolf]

"Yes, he's my dog, more or less," the man says.

[friend_of_lucy]

"He seems nice though its a shame he doesn't talk."

[scots_wolf]

The man laughs.

"He does," he says. "If you're another dog or wolf or even fox. I was a wolf for Cubefall and talked to him."

[friend_of_lucy]

"In Narnia, most animals talk. I always find it disconcerting when they don't."

[scots_wolf]

"Narnia is where you are from?" the man asks. "Franz is from a strange place called the Disc."

[friend_of_lucy]

"Yes, I'm a Faun. Are you a human?"

Its always best to check since Tumnus is forever amazed at how many humans are here.
