The slight hesitation as she steps over the threshold to Milliways is the only outward indication that the Amazon princess did not intend to spend her evening at the end of the universe ( Read more... )

Clementine can't help but notice Diana's costume as she passes by.

"I have that same outfit at home," she declares. "Only it's less PG and more NC-17."

[ooc: No problem at all!]

Diana pauses in her progress across the floor, turning to look at Clementine, smile bleeding out into a quiet sort of laugh.

"There is no end to the inventiveness of people involved in certain markets. I've grown used to it."

Clementine tilts her head and looks at Diana for a very long time. She was more of a Charlie's Angels girl growing up, but.

...Wow.

She might fangirl a little bit here. But she manages to keep a bit of her cool - better than Dangle and Junior with their so-called Leonard Nimoy lookalike.

"Do they at least ask you before they do anything?"

"I have an agent who handles the licensing."

Diana's smile widens.

"But there are some legal battles it's not really worth pursuing."

"Yeah, I can see why." She knew a girl in Las Vegas who did a routine that...well, she won't bother Diana with that one. "I'm Clementine Johnson," she says, offering her hand.

"It's good to meet you, Clementine."

She reaches out to take the other woman's hand and shake it.

"I'm Diana."

"Diana." Okay, Clem can do this. "Are you taking the night off?"

"Unless and until something outside the observation window attempts to break in here, yes."

Her expression moves further toward the 'wry' side of the fence.

"Gods grant that does not happen."

Clementine recognizes the wryness. "I didn't know superheros get to take breaks." She eyebrows and glances back at the observation window. "So it hasn't happened here before."

"Not that I'm aware of," Diana says, with a very slight smile.

"Which isn't saying much."

This functions perfectly well as an answer to both questions, in its way.

"You never know. Different rules apply here." Clementine doesn't even believe in rules, but things definitely are different at Milliways.

"So you're as new here as I am?" Clementine presumes a girl who's got the intergalactic traveling experience that Diana's got would've been here longer.

Diana's mouth quirks in a wry smile.

"If you make your way here more than once in a very great well, I'd venture to say 'yes'. My own visits are a great deal rarer."

She nods her head. "I'm here as often as I can be - I like my own little dive back at home, but it's cheaper to drink here."

[OOC: Oh, no problem at all! I tend to operate in uberslowtimes!]

"You must never have ordered the Atlantean, then. I hear the price is exorbitant."

She laughs quietly, and her smile is no longer wry.

She laughs. "You know, a friend of mine did. He spent the rest of the night huddled up in a chair talking to my girls."

...She's talking with Wonder Woman about her rack. Only in Milliways.

Diana arches one eyebrow, halfway to laughing.

"I hope that wasn't an improvement on his usual style of conversation."
