It's easy to ignore stress and mistrust at home when you have a garden and a springtime to throw yourself into at the Bar.

To say Dinah is hiding out in bar would be entirely accurate. Still, she has plenty to buusy herself.

She's jst placed a freshly cut flower in the centre of your table, for one. Say thank you.

Hal would say thank you, but people give him stuff all the time, just because of sheer awesomeness, so it can be hard to keep up.

But Dinah gets something else that's even more rare: a Hal who stops for a second, mouth open, at the sight of her.

Uh oh.

...oh crap it's Hal.

Dinah meets his eyes, her own wide and round, in a way that suggests herbivores and headlights.

Until she realises this is ridiculous.

"...hi?"

"Uh....hi."

Years from now Guy Gardner will be so pissed he couldn't be here to see this.

Dinah presses her lips together, clears her throat, and then smiles.

"How's, um. The piloting?"

Hal grins, relieved. "Oh! It's been great!"

You know me, I'm always at my best behind the stic--."

"...Uh, I mean..."

And Kilowog. And Ollie. Even Ganthet.

Dinah flushes bright red, then covers her face in her hands.

"...this is ridiculous"

"Yeah."

"Yeah!"

"So what if it happened? It's not the first time I swept a girl off her feet. Happens all the time."

Grin. "I bet even Aquaman wouldn't blame you."

Dinah lowers her hands, and treats him to an eyeroll. It's not one he hasn't seen before.

"For the record? I never ever want to hear about you and Aquaman."

"...."

"...."

"......What?"

It may be several years before Hal gets that one.

"Anyway. It happened. I'm not sorry." (Hal is never sorry.) "And you shouldn't be either."

Dinah stares at him. And stares some more.

- he did not just say that.

Oh no, wait, yes he did. Even without the mask, she knows him.

"I don't."

"Good!"

See? Everything's good now.

He looks around.

"Are we still the only two of us who come in here?"

"As far as I know."

Dinah shrugs and slides into a chair opposite him.

"Could be that they're better at hiding their identities than we are."

Right now, she wouldn't mind getting undressed with a guy who turned out to be Flash.

What fun would that be? It'd be over before she knew it.

"Huh. Good point." He looks around the bar again thoughtfully. "This place has even Oa beat."

"Doesn't it?" Dinah agrees. "Sometimes I think weirdness at home is just prepping us so we don't freak out here."

Hal's eyes widen slightly. "...Is that a car driving around?"

He shakes his head. "Seeing things."

"Car shaped patrons are not the weirdest thing," Dinah says.

Although she does turn around to see what he's talking about.
