The long day of baking had been cathartic, and Sunshine had needed it. Rae... wasn't thinking about what was going on back home, just yet. Wasn't ready to, so wasn't going to. Not right now. She had just set the tray of still-warm baked good on the bar when she'd received a napkin

"So, there anything in those drinks y'think I'd like?" Axel asks, slouching onto a barstool.

Sunshine sets a couple of the jalapeno-sweetcorn muffins on a plate for him without asking, smiling. "None are particularly spicy, but the Tequila Sunrise would at least match your hair."

"All right, let's go with that," Axel says, laughing. And eats a muffin.

Sunshine grins - she always likes to see people enjoying her cooking. "All right then."

It's not a hard drink to make, and she's made it before. It doesn't take long before the tall, red-orange drink is set on the bar in front of the tall, red-orange Axel.

Now all he needs is a red-orange coat, and a red-orange cat. Possibly made my dunking a white cat into some kool-aid. But we would never suggest these things where Yrael could hear us.
