There is a Colonel in the Bar. Currently, that Colonel is eating breakfast, having just finished a (slightly abbreviated) morning run...he was hoping to try the door again, but it was another bust this morning.
As much as he doesn't mind the breaks so he can deal with the [CENSORED] paperwork Selfridge loads him down with all too often, the Colonel does not like the fact that he can't get back to Hell's Gate when he feels like he needs to. So that pensive look isn't you...it's him getting a bit nervous about time 'starting up' back home without him.
A distraction (or two) wouldn't hurt.
