Most of the people the Fool has seen here at the Bar have been people. Sure one's been large and orange and stony, but he's been people.

This is the first time he's seen a not-people.

So, he gets stared at right intently.

Data eventually notices that he is being stared at, and turns to greet the person who is doing so.

"Hello," he greets, pleasantly.

"Your eyes are gold, your face is too. You have no breath. Like a statue and yet you move. Have you fears?"

"I am incapable of experiencing fear, or any other emotion," Data replies. "I am an android."

"May I poke you?"

He prowls over to Data, his shadow flickering as he does so.

Data blinks. "If you would like." He even holds out his elbow.

The flicker is noted.

The Fool pokes him between the eyes.

"There's nothing there." He frowns. "I'm surprised you can even see me."

Data's eyebrows furrow, curiously. Nothing?

"I assume you are referring to what is behind my external structure. On the contrary, you have just poked the vicinity of my olfactory sensor array.

"Are you telepathic?"

"I am not telepathic," he says still studying Data intently. He deliberately waves his hand in front of his face, the bells ringing loudly, wanting to see if Data can hear them. "And isn't your nose your olfactory sensor?"

His shadow also starts to lose its shape.

Data does not hear any bells.

"I would say that is accurate," he concedes. "However, the information gathered by my artificial receptor cells is processed within the array."

Data does continue to observe the changing shadow, though it is perhaps not the strangest thing he has ever seen in Milliways. He will politely answer this person's questions before asking too many of his own.

"Huh." He pokes again. "And you hear nothing, do you? No bells?"

"I would not say that I hear nothing," Data notes. "But I do not hear any bells. Why do you ask?"

Reply

"Because the bells herald who I am. But if you don't fear then you have no reason to see me. I mean nothing to you."

Data blinks. "You seem like a relatively normal person, the sort of being I would expect to meet commonly in Milliways. Is that incorrect?"

"I don't know. What sort of being do you commonly expect to meet here?" He tilts his head and pokes him again.

"Humans seem to be the most common species present in the Bar," Data replies. "And the vast majority of patrons are at least humanoid.

"Are you not human?"

Based on the conversation thus far, he might guess not. But he certainly resembles one.
