On this day, in 1906, the fires in San Francisco were finally contained, and those that fought them were actually well on their way to putting them out, rather than just scrambling from fire to fire as they had done for the past two days.

What is not in the history books is there wasn't a earthquake on April 18th, 1906. There was, however, a very angry Morganian who thought he could take down Balthazar Blake and take the Grimhold for himself. The resulting fight had shaken the city like a misbehaving puppy, despite Balthazar's attempts to limit the damage.

This would be why, as he walks through the door, Balthazar is muttering indistinctly as he brushes soot off of his jacket - the fire left some scorch marks, and the sooner those are fixed, the better.

((OOC: Mea culpa on any dropped threads in the last week on my pups - work hasn't just been busy, it's been brutal. And this machine likes to crash Firefox every few hours, so I don't have any threads saved - if you want to continue anything, please send me a line? Also, anyone with any magical sense can pick Balthazar up at the moment - he isn't exactly being subtle about repairing the fire damage. He's too dang tired for subtle.))
