There is a young girl out on the open grass, this afternoon, sitting in the style called 'Indian-style' at school (though Rae had never really known why it was called that - she had never heard of any Indians sitting like that). She holds an early flower cupped in her hands, bright yellow in the sunlight

Rae's out there for only a short while before she's joined by a familiar face bearing snack foods.

"Hello again, kiddo!"

The hand holding what is currently a trio of match-sticks, goes immediately flat against her leg, hiding them until she can see who's coming towards her.

It's... a lady. She looks sorta familiar... and against the background of the bar... oh!

"Remy!" See the kid beam.

The 'quick, hide it!', motion gets a brief, curious look from the young doctor, but the look soon fades, and Remy ruffles Rae's hair gently before settling on the grass beside her.

"You're getting big."

"It's been forever! I'll be ten in June." The match-sticks move with her hand as she surreptitiously tucks them under her knee.

Her smile turns into a full-blown grin as she offers Rae one of the muffins she brought.

"Well then, I'll have to make sure you get a present, then."

Rae giggles, grinning as she takes the offered muffin. She knows better than to ask what Remy would get her. She's hoping to get some more books - and maybe for her Mom to let her help more in the kitchen. Beyond that, she doesn't know what she'd want.

"Mmmm," she says, taking a bite with undisguised enjoyment.
