KK has never come in through the front door before. Her face is pure surprise as she stumbles in to what she thought was her bedroom. When she realizes that her clothing has changed as well upon arrival, she looks down at herself, then shrugs

"Hey. That's a new look." Cy is soaking wet, but otherwise himself. Apparently the mun Cy doesn't do costumes that often. "Long time no see."

[steamgenius]

"I wasn't dressed like this at home."

She's been laying out a game of solitaire, but gathers them up when she begins speaking.

"I haven't figured out why there are so many people in costume. Why are you wet?"

[says_the_booyah]

"Hey, there are. Maybe it's Halloween again or something?" Lots of pretty women, too. Why does that seem really weird? "I fell in the lake. My new scramjets need some work." He takes a seat and a rat dressed like a Viking brings a towel.

[steamgenius]

"I don't think it could be Halloween again, but this place is strange. At least this time I don't have a feathered headdress."

She listens to his explanation with interest.

"Scramjets? You're wanting to fly, then?"

[says_the_booyah]

"Yup. I do well without flying most of the time, and we have the T-car and the T-plane. But sometimes, it's really a pain to be stuck on the ground, or to have someone carry me.

"Problem is how much fuel I would need to fly. Scramjets make their own thrust from hot air, though, so I decided to try.

"It's not easy." Not that he expected it would be. But he was hopeful anyway.

"I'd like to see it, if you ever get it right. I don't think we had the technology to make scram jets small enough for personal use, even when the world was right."

She doubts she could come up with a steam powered equivalent to any kind of jet.

[says_the_booyah]

"It's kinda new. I read about it in some engineering journals, and I'm really improvising. I might also have the wrong kind of metal.

"But if I make it work, I would be glad to show off." Even if the person who wanted to see his new toys wasn't a girl. Or so cute. Was she so cute last time they met? Must be that outfit.

"How you doing? Aside from the costume?"

[steamgenius]

"All right. At home, I've been working on some designs for various things. I've been spending my time here down in the garage. Did you know there are dozens of abandoned cars down there?"

And by 'abandoned,' she means that no one has come to shout at her for tearing apart their vehicle, yet.

[says_the_booyah]

"Yeah, I've been done there once or twice. But I don't know that they're abandoned. I just think...I think..." Pause. "I have no idea what they're doing here.

"But it's like every car in the universe is there. Ever see the Batmobiles?" He's been looking for the T-Car but hasn't seen it yet.

[steamgenius]

"I couldn't get into it."

She blows a curl out of her face, clearly irked by this fact.

"I've gotten some good parts out of some other cars, though. I figured with the thick layers dust on the insides, no one was going to care."

[says_the_booyah]

"So you're...stealing car parts?" He tries not to frown. But he's a superhero, so there is a hint of said frown for a minute. "What are you doing with them?"

He wonders if KK and Jordan have met.

"Borrowing indefinitely."

She doesn't sound sorry. In fact, she may be putting it nicely just to set his mind at ease--a sure sign that she's decided to like him enough to bother.

"I'm using a lot of them to build things to help Whitechapel. We can use the hoses and belts in the water purification plants and the water truck."

[says_the_booyah]

It does noticeably put his mind at ease, in fact. He gets the need to improvise sometimes,

"Ahhh. That makes sense. It's for a good cause.

"But you will never, ever get anywhere with a Batmobile. That guy is kinda the best." Not that he would ever say that at home.

[steamgenius]

"I noticed."

Not even a sledge hammer put a dent in that thing! She will refrain from mentioning that she's heard of Batman, but didn't think he was real in her world. She could be wrong about that, though; she would have said that Milliways was not real before this, either.

"I'll bet there's some great stuff in there."

[says_the_booyah]

"He has the best tech. All kinds of wild toys. So his car must have, like, ejector seats and oil slick guns and you name it." If he sounds a little jealous, that's because he is.

"Not that my car isn't cool."

"You could easily have ejector seats, if you wanted. What is your car like?"

She kind of misses things that run on petrol.
