One of the engineers on board the Spark In Darkness got into a bet with the other engineers regarding their alien ward's capabilities a few days ago. Where the engineers came up with the yarn no one is sure, but about twenty minutes later money changed hands. Apparently, when sufficiently convinced of the well-being of local machinery, a Huragok is capable of leaving its work alone long enough to learn how to knit.

Vergil has never been one for leaving well enough alone, mostly because there is really no such thing as 'well enough'. As soon as the humans weren't looking the Huragok slipped through the door to Milliways and got another few balls of yarn and sets of needles. When you've got four tentacles and a couple of moderately manipulation-capable tendrils, you can learn to do many things indeed with yarn.
