Claudia notices the sign, during one of her breaks in coding. And, well, it never hurts to double-check.
"I'm pretty sure I don't have the flu," she says, "but one of my friends was really sick and acting weird the other day. Something going around?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Yes, unfortunately." Guppy says. "Who's your friend?"

[claudiometer]

"Al. He kept insisting he was Watson, as in Holmes and, except he's not even from Earth. Tried to snap him out of it, but it didn't work for more than maybe a couple seconds."
And she's not entirely sure about those couple seconds, either.

[guppy_sandhu]

"How is he now?" Guppy asks, grimacing.

[claudiometer]

"Haven't seen him since, not that I haven't been keeping an eye out." Hopefully he doesn't still think he's a famous detective's sidekick.
"Wanted to find out what the hell was going on. Aside from the weird factor, I don't have time for hallucinatory hijinks right now."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Well I hate to break it to you, but there's not a lot you can do but avoid contact with anyone infected." Guppy says. "The flu has come from somewhere outside of here, and there's no vaccine. If you see someone infected, please try and encourage them to go upstairs and not infect anyone else."

[claudiometer]

"I'll do that. I usually have pretty good flu immunity, so... I just hope that holds up with interdimensional flu."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Good, and thanks for your patience. I realise it's frustrating that we can't do anything about it."

[claudiometer]

"No problem," Claudia says. "Can't expect everyone to fix everything."
She kinda doubts this is what her mom had in mind, with that dream around Halloween, but it does fit the general 'sometimes stuff just happens' theme.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Heh, I think we'll have to employ you as our PR manager."

[claudiometer]

"...yeah, probably not a good idea. I'm not really a PR person. I just work with some pretty weird stuff for a living."
She wondered, briefly, if Al was under the influence of an Artifact. But she decided dumping goo on him to find out wouldn't be such a great idea.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Do you know Al's room number? I could go and check on him." Guppy suggests.

[claudiometer]

"No, I don't. I mainly see him bartending - he wasn't doing that when he was sick."
Sick people + other people's food and drinks = Never Good, so.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Oh, I think I know who you mean; I'll ask Bar after clinic."
