It's not uncommon for all sorts of activities to be going on in the bar all at once; that's part of what makes it interesting. And right now there is probably something of interest going on in that group of chairs by the fire, as one Russian boy stretches out, pushing on his arches and ankles with a look of calmly moderate discomfort. (Say what you ( Read more... )

The strange counter provided him with a tweed suit and a cane and he has been observing this odd establishment.

Holmes will make himself known, he always does and somewhere in his fevered mind, Moist thinks that the young man's flexibility could be fun in bed,

"Are you a dancer?"

"I am, yes," he says, looking up with a young, innocent face that's open in expression. He doesn't know the man talking to him, but he doesn't think that should present a problem.

"Sometimes, anyvay," Pavel amends in a thick Muscovite accent, with a small smile.

"I see and tell me what do you know of where we are?"

Its always best to gather information so he can figure out how to get back to Baker street. Who knows what horrible things Holmes has been up to.

"Ve are in Millivays," he says simply, but not rudely. "You hawe been here before?"

If he's new, he might need to be a little more clear about locations.

There's a young woman of about his age, observing him from by the Bar. She has a cup of coffee held gracefully in her thin hands, and her posture is pristine but relaxed. She's wearing a grey school uniform, which does nothing to add color to her pale skin and dark hair.

She's watching him with a serenely neutral expression, forming a quiet but unspoken judgement.

She could, if she's used to seeing dancers every day, probably tell that while he has excellent grasp on the theory and the knowledge of the skills he has and does not have, Chekov isn't someone who does ballet every day--every week, perhaps.

His lines are good, and his muscle development is better, but he has the signs of not being a professional student--maybe he was one, but quit--of the art.

Perhaps he had family troubles; he's talented enough, she decides, and she has heard that those can happen. Not in Kinkan Town, but in the stories Herr Katze tells.

"There's a barre upstairs," she tells him after several minutes, once she finishes her coffee. She's waited for him to finish the stretch he was doing, and she's only raised her voice just enough for it to carry.

His head whirls around to find the voice, brain acting almost like a radar to locate her.

"Spasiba," he answers in Russian, nodding his head to her. He didn't think he was being watched that closely. "I vas not aware zere vas one here," Pavel says, rising to his feet. When he stands it's easy to see that his legs are in very good condition, and his physical shape could be called delicate--he's not. But that's a little less apparent.
