"The knives were well received," Urquhart reports, approaching. "And is it your birthday? Happy Birthday!"

"Oh, I'm glad to hear that. Yes, at least here it is."

"I think I'll take the drink that's called 'Brick in the Wall'," Urquhart decides, "and will pay in full."

The drink is slightly complex so Sam takes his time putting together all the parts and shaking it,

"I think that means I'm eighteen."

"Does that mean you're considered a grown-up?" Urquhart asks.

"I'm already one. I've just been Bound so long that its odd to think of time passing."

[scots_wolf]

"No time passes in your world, I take it?" Urquhart says.

"None, when I go home it will only be two months or so after my last birthday."

"But you will be older and have learned more than two months' worth," Urquhart ponders.

"Hopefully some of that will help me."

"I'm sure it will," Urquhart says. "At the very least, Milliways would make you more capable of facing the strange with ease."

"I find it quite instructive," Urquhart says, giving Sameth a deep look.

"It has been, I just don't know if it will be enough."

"You never know that, before it's over," Urquhart says. "But that doesn't mean you shouldn't prepare as best you can, and plan for eventualities."
