Look, a Teddy, who was clearly asleep ten minutes ago.

He's slumped, in a pair of pyjama trousers, at a booth with a bunch of notes scattered over the table and a very strong coffee.

Botherable.

Look, a Victoire, who has clearly been up for far too long.

Having spent a day working in her Uncle's new joke shop in Paris so she's wearing the bright magenta robes which constitute the shop uniform. Despite them clashing horribly with her hair, somehow Victoire still manages to look good in them. In fact despite the fact that she looks incredibly tired she still manages to look good. It's a Veela thing.

At first she doesn't see Teddy and she makes her way to the bar to get herself a drink.

Teddy sets down his work for a moment, padding over to how to flop an arm over her shoulder.

"You look as tired as I feel."

She's a little startled by the sudden arm around her shoulder at first but she brightens when she sees it's Teddy rather than a random stranger.

"It's been a long day," she says, reaching up to try and squeeze some life into her aching shoulders. "I didn't think it was possible for the shop to actually be busier than it is in the summer holidays."

"That explains the robes," Teddy says wryly, reaching back to massage her shoulders. "I just got up. Spent the night here so that I could do more work before heading home."

"Well actually I just thought they looked good on me. They're what all the girls are wearing in Paris," she jokes.

She closes her eyes and relaxes as he rubs her shoulders. It feels so, so good.

"You're just getting up and I'm just planning to go to bed. Typical. We find a place where time and space doesn't matter and our schedules still don't match up."

Teddy laughs. "They'll line up eventually, don't worry. This place is pretty good for that."

"Mmm, eventually," she says like she's not all that convinced they ever will, at least not in the near future, but she smiles brightly as she continues "I guess that just means we'll have to make the most of it when we can."

She gets a butter beer from the bar and then turns back to Teddy.

"Let's go sit down."

"Sure. While I'm here, though," he taps on the bar. "Could I have a t-shirt?" One (with a bear's face on) appears. "Thanks."

"Shame, I was enjoying the view," she says flirtatiously as they head back to sit down.

Teddy doesn't blush, but his hair goes red as he wriggles into the t-shirt.

"No doubt if you wanted to you could persuade me out of it."

Like she didn't know that already.

"I'll keep that in mind for later..."

Teddy's hair goes even redder.

"You, er, you do that."

Victoire bites her lip and tries not to laugh: it's always fun to see the usually so stoical Teddy become - at least what counts for him as - flustered.

"So come on then, what are you working on that's so important that you need to go back home for?"

"The Dark Wizard I was tracking got tortured and killed, and then one of my contacts got murdered," Teddy says mildly, hair shifting back to normal now that he's on more comfortable ground. "I'm pretty sure there's a connection."

Beat.

"I'm also not meant to be working on it."

That wipes the smile off her face fast.

"... So why are you?"

"Because I was working on that case and I want to know what happened," Teddy says, a little defensively. "He was - it wasn't nice, what they did to him. I'm just - looking into it." Beat. "Dawlish never said I wasn't allowed to look into it. He just said it wasn't my assignment."
