"It was not an immaculate conception," Coyote says, tucking her tail carefully around squirmy bodies. "Or even a golden shower. Just someone with a gun. And I was nearby."
Plus, the idea of immaculate anything happening around Coyote? Pretty laughable.
"I do not actually have time for this," Coyote says with something that resembles a sigh. "I hope to find a pack that would take orphans, but it is unlikely."
Times are tough for coyotes too! And besides, very few will take in pups that are not related to them.
Of a sort.
She twists around to peer over the back of her chair and takes a sip of her whiskey.
