[OOM: An era of money...]

Lucas walks into Milliways looking very pensive. A new issue has come up at home and he's not sure how to solve it. Some time here to think should help, especially since the issue won't follow him into the door.

He takes a seat and asks how his friends here are doing. He gets two notes and a magazine. He smiles at the

"...is that a wizarding magazine?"

[pullsneedles]

Lucas looks up and smiles.

"Oh hi, Tyler," he says. "And yeah, I think so. I asked how my friends were and I got this magazine. I guess it's something from Miss Luna's home."

[tyler_marlocke]

"Is her last name Lovegood?" He replies after a moment of thought.

[pullsneedles]

"I dunno. I don't think she told me her last name. But she goes to a school called Hogwarts and she sings in the choir there. She sleepwalked to my table when I was trying to have dinner one night and covered my food in ketchup and hot peppers."

It was the oddest introduction Lucas has had so far.

...Yeh that sounds about right.

"I think I've heard about her world before. A muggle is someone who has no magical talent or knows nothing about the wizarding world at all."

[pullsneedles]

"That does make these stories make more sense," he says, looking over them for another moment. "Do you know what a flea market is?"

[tyler_marlocke]

"It's a marketplace where people can sell anything out of the back of a wagon or truck, or off of a table they've set up. Sometimes people find good bargains by shopping in those markets. They don't happen often though." Tyler answers, getting up onto a stool next to Lucas. "So what's new with you?"

[pullsneedles]

"Well at least I knew it didn't actually have fleas," Lucas says with a smile.

He puts his Quibbler down and scratches his head.

"Things are getting kinda normal at home. Normal as they can be, anyway. But there was something odd the other day. I went by Mr. Butch's to get some ham for home and he asked for money. Only we don't have money in Tazmily. I didn't know any adults at home knew about it and I don't know where the money's coming from."

[tyler_marlocke]

"Huh. I wonder...Anything else happen recently?" Tyler asks, "And do you need any help getting food for home?"

[pullsneedles]

"Well, this isn't as recently anymore... I had been away from here for a couple of months. But Claus and Dad are gone."

Lucas is clearly worried but he's past some point of crying about it.

"After what happened with Mom, Claus took Dad's handmade knife and went to kill the drago. I ended up telling Dad and Grandpa and they went looking for him. When they came back, all they had was one of Claus's shoes. But they're confident that Claus is still alive somewhere and Dad's been looking for him since."

He scratches his head.

"I can always eat here and I guess bring some home with me. And I've been working here, out in the garden."

[tyler_marlocke]

"You can earn a little extra money by helping clear up dishes people leave behind at the booths, too." Tyler offers, and mentally trying to figure how to get some of his tab around to pay for Lucas' things. "But you can't always eat here every night....what do you know how to cook?"

[pullsneedles]

"I can scramble eggs and make toast. And I can manage things that I just have to heat up okay. I don't really know much besides that, though. Miss Dinah's helping me find people to teach me how to cook."

And he pays that back by working in the greenhouse.

"I like it here plenty but I know I shouldn't eat here every night. Besides, I gotta take care of Boney and the sheep now, too."

Beat.

"Do you know how to cook, Tyler?"

[tyler_marlocke]

"I know how to cook some stuff, like mac in cheese, or tacos, or spaghetti."

[pullsneedles]

"................those all sound good," Lucas says.

And it's making his mind pretty hungry.

[tyler_marlocke]

"Tell you what, I'll ask Bar for the supplies, and we can ask the kitchen staff if we can use a burner back there," Tyler offers out, grinning. "That way I can teach you how to make those."

[pullsneedles]

"All right!"

He's content with the idea of getting some more variety in his diet.

"When did you learn how to cook, by the way?"

Lucas is kind of wondering if he's behind on learning how.
