Nikola isn't sitting by the fireplace tonight. He needs an actual table.
He's using nearly all of that actual table, too. He has several large, dusty books with him. Most of them are stacked next to him, but the biggest and dustiest is open in front of him. In addition to the massive tomes, he has three bottles of wine, one empty, one open, one still corked, and a half-full glass of wine.
Occasionally, he makes a few notes on a notepad close to his right hand.
