Oh look, a rather somber young man is coming over.

Connor is in a very bad mood, his violet eyes still glowing a bit. "Artie Nielsen and Claudia Donovan."

"Alice switched places with my girlfriend."

"We know. We're coming to fix that," says Artie. A beat, then: "Your girlfriend is Annabelle Newfield, right?"

That would be just what they needed, Alice stealing someone else's identity once she got here.

[claudiometer]

"And... how'd you know who we are?"
It's kind of a secondary question, Claudia's the first to admit, but she's still curious.

[leadinghome]

Connor answers Claudia first. "I am psychic. The second I saw Alice, I knew she was not Annabelle. She was not going to tell me what happened, so I had to read her mind." And his tone shows how he hated doing that.

Then, to Artie. "She's upstairs in Annabelle's room: I knocked her out and tied her up. I know she has to go back into the mirror for Annabelle to be freed."

He could really be a mind reader... or he could be Alice in disguise, trying to throw them off track.

"You're psychic," Artie echoes. "Okay, what am I thinking right now?"

[claudiometer]

Claudia is not a mind reader. But they've had a conversation about similar circumstances before, so she's trying not to laugh.
(And she picked "Skullcrusher Mountain" as a good counterpoint.)

"You are thinking a Rick Astley song is a good way to test if someone can really read your mind." Connor raises a brow. "I have to keep that in mind for the next time Sirkka starts broadcasting."

"Can we go rescue Annabelle now?" There is new tension on his voice: he knows what his girlfriend is facing right now. I can speak in your mind if you prefer. The young man glances at Claudia. A three-way conversation too.

"Iiii'd really rather you didn't," says Artie. "Where's Alice?"

[claudiometer]

"...Yeah, let's just get down to business."
Thaaaaaat was weird.

"In Annabelle's room." He turns and heads back to the stairs, leading the way.
