She doesn't know how long it's been.
Days, weeks, months ... who can ever tell on a good day in Milliways? Let alone a bad one.
She does know it's been a while, though. A while since she's gotten dressed and left her room. A while since she's been able to stomach a real meal. A while since she's been out to check on Beaut. A while since she last tended to any of her chores. First, she bathes (it's been a while since she last did that, too), and then she slips on her boots, and sets out to change all that.
She's only going through the motions.
The sun is starting to go down by the time she finds her way to the shooting range. She isn't doing anything but wasting time and bullets -- there's no satisfaction in the way the targets fall, no relief in the crack or the recoil, not even frustration when she misses a mark entirely.

The sound from the range is steady, paced, and constant.
Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang.
