There are signs of habitation up on the roof, but Zelgadiss stays far away from them. He prefers to sit on the far side of the roof, overlooking the lake and forest, the forge and stables below. He gets a good breeze from this direction, which lets him stay up here longer than he would, otherwise; under the direct summer sun, his stone skin sometimes absorbs heat quicker than he can release it, and he would rather not overheat if he can avoid it.

There is a great tome set beside him, supposedly of ancient spells, but he is not currently studying its contents.
