"I am Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots - self-aware mechanical beings from the planet Cybertron, who are now residing on Earth. As to what happened... the Bar, for whatever reason, has chosen to celebrate our most sacred holiday, Cubefall. On our world, there was nothing until the Allspark - also called the Cube, as it was a large cube of metal - landed there, creating the first thirteen of us, and imbuing them with life and intelligence."
He pauses to let that sink in, then goes on. "For us, it is a time of consideration, thinking about one's place in the universe and what one does. It was also a time for celebrating new inceptions - similar to births for non-robots - and remembering those that had fallen, all the way to the first Fallen, the first of us to teach us that we may be machines, but we were mortal and could end."
"As to what happened to the place... well, as you might expect, building and creating are considered good luck. And the furnace over there," he indicates with a finger, "allows people to place items in there and have them reforged into something else. Some of these things," he says with a confidential tone, "don't entirely make sense to me."

It's also a little comforting that some things - like Milliways, just Milliways confuse just about everybody.

The way her people went on about it, you could say it's a bit religious.
"The Vault is one of many large underground shelters humanity went into the survive the destruction of the Great War."
