Moist doesn't argue when he gets the note from Bar asking him to tend, he simply sighs and pulls out the cocktail book. He's still wearing his best quality suit and pulls out a deck of cards from a deep inner pocket to play with as he reads.

Then with a grin, he gets an idea, its always useful to have something to hang a plan on.

"Free Silver, thanks," Nathan remarked as he settled into a seat by the bar.

"Not sure what I can offer for card tricks per se. Learned a few card games in the Navy."

Moist puts the deck of cards in front of Nathan, its a nice but worn deck,

"Show me what you know while I make your drink."

"Know anything about poker? Used to play a good game of Texas Hold 'Em." Nathan cut the deck, and started shuffling the cards.

"I've played it before, but that doesn't really count as a card trick. Not unless you know how to cheat and not get caught, that's the trick."

Moist might know something about that but being a card cheat is a whole other type of conning.

Nathan smirked at that, "That's half the fun of poker." He continued shuffling the cards, and dealt out a hand for himself. Didn't seem like much of a hand, but it had the makings for a royal straight if you were clever about it.

"I agree, but it won't get you a free drink."

Nathan will have to actually impress Moist and he's not doing it so far.

"I can pay if I gotta." He took out his wallet, and laid out a twenty from a folded stack of bills. He took a few cards, and discarded three while doing so. The cards set down now, and while he didn't manage a royal straight this time, it was definitely a high end straight.

"Show me a better trick than cheating at poker since that's an easy one to learn."

Moist nods at the switching out of the cards, its nicely done but he knows how to do that already. Also this man just sounds pouty at not getting his way, which doesn't make Moist want to give him the drink.

Nathan considered it, but nothing came to mind. He shook his head.

"I think I'm out of practice."

"Fair enough. Can I have my cards back?"

He hands over Nathan's drink and takes the twenty.

"Sure," he easily handed the deck back, all together again. Nathan then had some of his drink.

"Not bad."

"Thank you. I try to be good at what I have to do. I'm Alfred."

The cards are quickly tucked into his jacket pocket as Moist smiles.

"Nathan, good to meet you."

He gave him a critical eye, "Pretty new around here aren't you? I don't remember seeing you around before."

"Quite new, yes, but I think I'm managing fairly well."

Milliways is not an easy place to blend in, but Moist is learning.

"As long as you can adjust to the strange around here, you're in good shape. Food from the Bar's good, but heard to stay clear of any free food. Be careful who you piss off too." Nathan learned that lesson the hard way early on.

"So far it hasn't been too bad. Who's the worst person that you've crossed?"
