On Londinium, Regan is -- for a wonder -- bored. The wonder is not so much that, as that she's bored and at loose ends; usually, these days, her boredom involves a lot of polite smiling and pretending to listen to speeches. But it's a quiet afternoon, and she's finished her current book and not quite in the mood to pick up another. Gabriel's resting for a few hours, before the fundraising dinner they'll both be attending this evening.
It's been a while, she thinks, on the spur of the moment. Why not? If nothing else, Milliways is far more interesting than wandering desultorily around a quiet house.
She slips on her shoes (sensible flats, to go with her sensible-but-tailored trousers and cardigan), writes a quick note for Gabriel just in case he comes looking, and thinks hard about wanting Milliways as she opens the kitchen door.
