Tonight, the goddess Aphrodite is playing the part of your friendly neighborhood bartender, and has dressed accordingly in jeans and a deep green t-shirt with a deep v-neck. Her hair (tonight, golden) is swept up into a messy but very fetching ponytail, a few tendrils fallen loose and framing her face

Barbie is quite relieved to have found Milliways in her trailer again as her latest lines have been giving her nothing but grief. Whoever decided that much dialog can occur whilst dancing needs to seriously reconsider their chosen profession.

The specials do give her pause though as she has never seen any cocktails with such blatant names. (She's still new to Hollywood you see.)

Aphrodite blinks, but only a little.

This is Milliways. You get used to things.

"Evening, sweetie!" she says.

"What can I do you for?"

"I do hope it will be a good evening," Barbie replies with a smile. "Are any of those like a Cosmopolitan?"

"Afraid not," Aphrodite says with an apologetic frown.

"But you know what is like a Cosmopolitan-- a Cosmopolitan. Want me to fix up one of those?"

Barbie claps her hands in excitement.

"Oh I love that! I haven't had one since Ken and I moved to Hollywood. He says they aren't fashionable enough."

Aphrodite blinks, just as she's reaching for the cranberry juice.

"Not fashionable enough?" she repeats.

Mortal fashions don't always mean that much to 'Dite-- even, er, plastic mortals. (Is this girl mortal at all?)

"I don't understand it either. I mean they were maybe a little old in New York but they are a classic! Besides what does Ken know about fashion? But he gets to worked up sometimes so I decided to do without. I don't drink often anyway."

Aphrodite pours out and passes her the glass, still frowning.

"You want my advice, sugar, never let a man tell you what's in fashion."

Plus, her Cosmos are FABULOUS.

"Tell me what you think."

"He usually has good instincts," she says a bit defensively and reaches for the Cosmo to take a sip. "Oh this is just like Broadway!"

"Broadway?"

Color 'Dite curious.

She doesn't even break the tragic news that me with good instincts are almost invariably gay.

"The drink, the place ...?" (Hey. It could be a drink.)

Barbie wipes a bit of the drink from her lip before replying, "Sorry the place. I've always loved Broadway ever since I first auditioned there. This is perfect! I don't think I've ever had a better Cosmo. I'm Barbie by the way."

Cue offered hand.

Oooooof course she is.

"Nice to meet you, Barbie," Aphrodite says, extending her own hand to shake. "And thank you for the lovely compliment."

A beat.

"So-- you're an actress?"

"Yes I am," she replies with a big grin. "And a model." She holds the hand a little longer than is polite as she waits for the bartenders name.

When none is provided (assuming that is the case) she takes back her hand and clears her throat a little embarrassed. "Are you an actress? You certainly are beautiful enough to be one."

Aphrodite laughs.

"Aww, thank you honey. As it happens, I am neither-- not right now, anyway. I prefer a more ... backstage approach."

"Oh?" Barbie replies curious. "Are you a director then? Or do you work with make-up?" Sorry Barbie is a little focused in her world.

She smiles.

"A lot of the latter. And occasionally some of the former." But possibly not in the sense that Barbie or any non-gutter-minded person would be thinking of. "But mostly these days I'm a personal shopper."

One never does know when she'll decide to take a case.

But when she does, the results are dazzling.
