"Greetings, Herr Medic," Teja says, politely, turning up beside the table not long after the sign was put up.

"Ah- hallo, Herr Teja," says the Medic, looking up. "Und how does zis day find you, hmm?"

"Curious," Teja says. "Does that sign mean you're looking for volunteers for your ceaseless war?"

That last isn't said in criticism; if anything, there is eagerness in the Ostrogoth's voice.

"Indeed," says the Medic. "If we take zem on purposely und ensure zat zey haf proper orientation und equipment, zey will be compensated for fighting a full day's battle. It seemed an opportune moment to do a little recruiting."

"Would you take an experienced volunteer who does not even wish for payment?" Teja asks, with a hint of a smile.

He had enjoyed the Battlefield World greatly, and had wished to be back there several times since his visit.

"I see no reason why not," says the Medic, with an answering half-smile. "Ze arrangement is a simple enough vun to make."

"Then you may count upon me," Teja says. "Having experience already, I might help other fighters get used to how things are in your world."

[hands_of_blu]

"Sehr gut. I shall not ask you to waste your time with filling out ze forms; we only haf need of zem if money is to be dispensed," says the Medic. "I shall let you know as soon as I am ready to return to mein own world, ja?"

"Perfect," Teja says. "I shall leave you to your breakfast, and your break, then?"

He was looking forward to it. Charlie would, most likely, be horrified. But if he wasn't here at the time, he would not need to tell him.

"As you wish," says the Medic. "Sank you indeed."

"I will get my rocket launcher ready," Teja says, smiles, and leaves.
