Parker is sitting sideways in an armchair, legs draped over the arm, knitting at something lacy and silvery-grey.
Spring break in Denver has actually left her a lot more relaxed than she has been. Even having spent the week with her parents; a year ago, Parker would have gone back to school more tense than she had left. And even with two job interviews during that week; the one at her dad's company is a shoo-in, but Parker is really hoping for a postive response from the other.
Still, she has come back to Neptune rested and less inclined toward nightmares about her grades and classes. She's in good shape. She knows she's in good shape. She just needs to hang in for another forty-one days, and she'll officially be a college graduate. Parker has firmly resolved to have no more school-related flip outs.
And in the meantime, Mother's Day will be here before she knows it. Hence the knitting.
Parker shifts a bit in her chair, and the ball of yarn falls out of her lap and goes rolling across the floor, leaving a silver line in its wake.
Darn it. She just got comfortable.
