"That's good," she smiles down at him, letting her eyes run over the pale edges to the afternoon shadows cast by his face. "Though I'm not at liberty to indulge, right now, even if I felt like swimming. I have to be back in the kitchen in about twenty minutes. The cinnamon rolls will be ready."
She's just soaking, right now. Soaking in the sunlight.

Ganymede's name reminds her of the strange names of Yolande's cohorts; she's half-tempted to ask him if he's a wardskeeper. But if he were, the shadows he casts wouldn't look like that, so she doesn't ask.
"Nice to meet you, Ganymede," she says, grinning.

"Your shadows were just... interesting, and I guess I got distracted. I've not seen any like them. Their edges are paler than the shadows themselves, and they shine, occasionally, when you move."
