Oh God. Sleep. Why can there not be more sleep.

Luckily, thanks to the magic of Milliways, there can be!

Or, to wit: one last-semester college senior at a booth, a couple of textbooks open and scattered across the table, with her head pillowed in her arms and her earbuds in.

Mac's just resting her eyes. She swears.

He just watches her for a second or two from his own table, then smiles and shakes his head.

Sam gets up, goes to the bar, and comes back with a soy caramel latte. He sets it carefully down on Mac's table, then turns to head back to his books.

...Hey. Something smells good.

Something very close by smells very good. (And very caffeinated, which: even better.)

Mac cracks an eye open and peeks over the top of her arm. "...mwuh?" she manages, but it's a rather pleased-sounding sort of nonsense syllable. Straightening up, she drags the coffee a little closer and takes a sniff.

He's back at his table now, but keeping an eye out to watch over her while she sleeps -- which means when she stirs, he notices, and then grins at her reaction.

"Coffee always helps," he calls over. "It goes hand in hand with college, you know?"

You'd think Mac just drank four mugs' worth of the stuff, with the way she perks up at the sound of Sam's voice.

"Did you do this?" she calls back, pointing to the coffee.

Andrew's passing by, with a couple books of his own in his arms, and spots the sleeping resting-her-eyes Mac.

For a moment he considers waking her. At least to suggest that if she's going to sleep, she might at least want to move to the sofa.

"I told you, only the polka-dotted lightsaber's gonna work," she mumbles under her breath.

Okay, maybe she's kind of seriously conked out.

"Pol-ka dot-ted," she enunciates in a very 'duh' kind of tone.

(Somewhere in the middle of the dream, she stops and thinks, wait a minute.)

A second later, her eyes blink open.
