It's been just another day in the life of the Winchesters.
They'd stopped for the night about half a day's drive outside Joliet. Dean's still at the bar down the street from the motel, alternating between pool sharking and hitting on girls. Sam had called it quits early and headed back to the room to do a little research.
He'd managed to deal with the cheap decor in the room -- seriously, giant purple paisley wallpaper and fuzzy red velvet lampshades, what the hell's up with that? -- just long enough to cache a few sites on his laptop, then had taken the computer, John's journal, and a few books, and headed straight for Milliways.
Now Sam's kicked back in a booth with his stuff spread out on the table and a cup of coffee at hand while he reads and makes notes.
Things are looking up.
