Happy Hour!

Fraser was certainly not expecting the Bar to show up today, but that's not a change from how it usually happens.

He also isn't expecting to be asked to fill in as a bartender when he arrives, but he can adapt accordingly.

Within a few minutes, the specials board bears a neat, handwritten message:

Castiel is still very much a novice at decision making, so simple is good.

He studies the board, head tilted to the side a bit, before approaching the bar.

"Hello," he says, formally.

"I would like a cup of coffee, please."

"No sugar."

(Okay. There are a few things he has developed strong feelings about. A dislike of refined sugar is one of them.)

Fraser smiles, not at all put off by the formality. "Coming right up."

He turns to find a mug first and then pour the coffee into it. When he turns back, he slides the cup across the bar to the man.

"Enjoy."

It's...very strong.

"Thank you."

Castiel catches the cup and takes a sip of the coffee. It is indeed strong. Castiel approves.

And then, because it seems to be customary and polite to make conversation when ordering from the bar, he adds,

"It is a pleasant evening, is it not?"

Small talk. He's working on it.

"It certainly is," Fraser says, almost grinning. He offers his hand, because it's only polite to introduce himself. "Constable Benton Fraser, RCMP."

Jane is still in rather a good mood and smiles at the man behind Bar,

"Could I have some tea, sir?"

"Absolutely," Fraser says with a friendly smile. "Any preference as to what type?"

"I do enjoy the variety available here so perhaps you could recommend a new one for me to try, sir."

Fraser thinks for a moment. "Let me see what I can find," he says, turning away to start some water boiling and find a particular tea.

...He was heading into his own bar to start his shift. Landlord seems to be on a run for surprising him with doors lately, so why not make the most of it.

"Could I get a strong coffee, with honey and cream in it with a biscuit?"

"American biscuit or British biscuit?" Important distinctions.

"Much as I'm an american boy, I'm going with British on this. British have much sweeter biscuits, and make much better breakfast food."
