So a vague notice went up a couple days ago about attacks in the hallways and warning of mind control.

Captain Ryan’s not a big fan of mind control, despite never having been subjected to it himself. Still, that someone is running around causing trouble, yet again, and Security can’t seem to stop it, yet again, has put him in a rather grumpy mood.

Urquhart has never met a werewolf. But he notices the scowling man, from where he is leaning by the fireplace.

He is watching people. He only arrived today and intends to find his way around here soon.

That's nice. We can't say Ryan particularly cares, beyond noticing someone else keeping an eye on the room.

Interesting, that.

The someone wears a dark cloak and has a small, odd crossbow at his belt.

And he's quietly listening to what people are saying.

Not terribly odd. Ryan himself is in dark coloured civvies with a P226 at his belt.

He doesn't usually bother with what people are saying. It tends not to be that interesting, but watching the Door, well. There's something he doesn't mind paying attention to. It's a little hint of where people are coming from, or going to.

After he has seen the door open and close three times, Urquhart is somewhat bothered.

Each time, there is something different on the other side of the door. And it's never the oddly gray city street that he'd pushed the village idiot out onto.

Nope. That's why Ryan finds it so interesting.

And he finds the man's reaction to that interesting as well. Perhaps he's new?

He is new.

And he can see very strange things on the other side of the door.

But he is curious and wary. Not panicked or scared. Large moving metal bugs on wheel. So what?

He looks at it all with dispassionate amber animal eyes.

If he were panicked and scared, Ryan likely wouldn't be watching him so curiously.

And such interesting eyes. Is a sign of something more than human, or merely a genetic quirk? The 'wolf's a bit far to catch a scent, unfortunately.

The uncommon colour of Urquhart's eyes are a genetic quirk; the expression that makes him seem something other than human is owed to his personal history, which may have made him something less than human -- you could say.

Urquhart keeps part of his attention on the scowling man by the window, even though outwardly, his eyes are on the door.

Possible attacker? Potential customer?

Or rival killer?

Perhaps all three, depending upon the situation.

Ryan, in kind, keeps part of his attention on the man by the fireplace, though his eyes roam the rest of the room. There are other people to observe besides him, though none seem to have the same potential threat about them.

Though he wonders...the fellow seems a bit shady. He wouldn't be the one behind the attacks, would he? Not just standing out in the open like this. Then again, there's the mind control part of the attacks. Who knows what Ryan's really seeing?

Urquhart hasn't heard about the attacks; he's too new.

He turns his head to look fully at Ryan, almost in challenge. He's stuck here for the time being. He can just as well take things head-on.

Instead of ignoring them, and drifting on.

Ryan's scowl deepens. And the evening was going so uneventfully, too.

The werewolf meets the man's gaze without pause, glaring ever so slightly and restraining any desire to blink.

The man's eyes are still an intense amber colour, and just as unblinking.

His head tilts slightly, annoyed, not blinking.

(He's a shade wary about the eye colour. It's occurred to him that this could be a 'wolf that can shift at will.)

Unfortunately, he is not.

Not blinking, either.

Unfortunately, Ryan is concluding that he is since humans rarely hold eye contact this long. They don't know what it means to him.

(If he had a scent, he'd be much more relaxed about all of this.)

Thus, he is now showing a hint of teeth on top of the stare.
