Despite how cold it is around the Bar just now, there's a young man outside in a plain lorica, with both a longsword and gladius, practicing rather intently. He's actually quite good, and if the scars he carries are any indication, he's seen plenty of combat--although the armor looks fairly new by comparison.

There's a canteen and a small package of food lying nearby, and when he does take a break he gravitates towards them, flopping on the grass with almost no dignity.
