Medic is getting very, very tired of being set on fire. The next time he sees that one RED Pyro on his tail, he's going to leave off with the Blutsauger and the Ubersaw and chase the son of a motherless dog down so he can strangle him with his bare hands. Gloved hands. Whatever

Sam's got a grasp of the basics of this place, now, but that doesn't make the people any less interesting. As such, he's back for another round of people-watching.
(Why stay when you can go home, after all? Besides, he had to be sure he could.)
The apparently smoking man catches his interest.

The majority of the fires are out. It's just residual smoke now. It's just that it's coming from all kinds of places; there are more pockets in that coat than are immediately visible to the eye, and some of them are still smouldering. So thank Heaven for small mercies.

That being said, Medic glances up as he notices the feel of someone looking his way. It's a skill you develop if you want to avoid dying of sniper.

"Don't mind me," Sam says, when that happens. "I'm just taking in the ambience."
...But he's definitely got the look of someone who could do much more than that.

The Medic nods once, curtly. He could doubtless be more polite, but Pyro kills never do much for his temper. "Fair enough," he says. "I take it zis is among your first visits here?"

Sometimes the job isn't good for one's disposition. It happens.
"My second, yes. Mostly because I made sure I could go home."

"A bit of one, yes. It seems like a very interesting place."

(So that ended up longer than I expected, due to picking up hours. But I'm around for a bit.)

It could be entertaining, after all. ...Well, if it doesn't involve him directly.

"From time to time, ja," says the Medic. "I suppose it's only to be expected in a place vhere so many people from so many different vorlds meet und mingle. Between ze magic und ze chemistry und ze different expectations und ze diseases it's a vonder it hasn't gotten far, far worse."

Sam wasn't the biggest fan of it before Mizzamir abused it, and that didn't really help his opinion. He tends to look at it as a necessary evil (with more than a trace of irony, given the word choice).

"I've had a few... unpleasant encounters, over the years. People who use it tend to think they know what's best for everyone else, in my experience."
Even Valerie does, to some extent. She's just more honest in her motives than Mizzamir and his adherents.

Sam shrugs. "I'd hope it's not a common experience around here. But that sort of power... people tend to misuse it, if given the opportunity."
