Contrary to some expectations, there will still be working hours tomorrow for the endless battle between BLU and RED in Medic's world. However, a few minor modifications are being made to accommodate the fact that the Americans are the largest bloc on both teams. For one, the fighting's stopping early; for another, the intelligence briefcases are ( Read more... )

Haha you thought you could get away from him, didn't you?

Suckeeeeeer.

"Himmelherrgott!"

The guinea pig dives for her pile of bedding and starts digging.

(OOC: No problem!)

"Oh, hey pig!" Scout yells as well when he sees the furious digging of the little animal. He slides up next to the Medic all casual, as if they may as well be back in the base. "So you think they're gonna burn the turkey? I mean, it's a big deal. It'd be damn heartbreaking if they did. Ma used to make this sorta sweet-potatoes-and-marshmallow thing, I don't know how it's done though. Buy me a beer?"

He's smooth like a fox. A shaved fox.

"Herr Engineer intends to deep-fry ze bird," says the Medic, and makes a mental note to check the Scout's blood sugar levels the next time they get a sample. "Haf you been drinking zat punch of yours during off hours again?"

"No!" Scout says before Medic finishes asking. "Of course not. Wait, is that the right answer?"

As long as Medic doesn't test his blood sugar then the truth is this nebulous thing.

"For ze moment," Medic concedes. "I shall chalk it up to anticipation of tomorrow, I sink. Vhen did you find zis place, anyway?"

"Like a day or two ago - at first I thought I was on some kind of acid trip or something but then I figured it had to be real because there's weird enough stuff and I'm not a big fan of those heavy-ass novels about robots and aliens so I probably wouldn't hallucinate this of all things. Now, a harem of Brigitte Bardot SURE I'd so hallucinate that any day. But there are ladies here and that's pretty damn awesome. I met a girl that likes baseball and explosions. She's cute."

... he's right, damn it; the boy would imagine things more to his liking under the influence of something. "Congratulations, zen," he says. "Zis place has quite a few options of zat sort- women from all sorts of places."

"I know, right? Got a chance to meet that lady I could swear I've seen around our base too. So, beer?"

Hopeful Scout is hopeful. Look at those big eyes. Puppy face, puppy face!

Here's the thing: Medic is German. He started on beer around the time they stopped bottle-feeding him. Americans are stupid about drinking ages.

"All right, but only ze one," says the Medic, "und if you get out of hand I will take... steps."

Which is exactly why Scout likes you, Medic, even if you scare him.

He does not fistpump or make any overly-youthful comments, because he knows that would be like shooting himself in the foot. Still- "Thanks man I totally won't make a scene I promise."

"See to it zat you don't und I see no reason for there to be trouble," says the Medic as he orders a Schwaben Bräu Meister-Pils for the boy. It's decent enough to start on, he figures, and it's not like those odd beers you get around Innsbruck that're practically half lemonade; it's far too easy to drink too much of those at Scout's size and age. "Und speaking of trouble, I assume someone has already told you ze rules of ze house?"

"Yeah, don't cause a riot and no shoes no shirt no service or whatever." BEER. BEEEEEER. ♥ ♥ ♥

Did he ever tell you that you were his favorite teammate, Medic? Because you totally just earned that title. Until he does something stupid, gets hurt, and you have to set a bone or something. BUT RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE #1.

"OH MAN I SAW THE SPY. THE- THE RED BASTARD!" he snaps his fingers, suddenly remembering.

The Medic scowls. "Ja, he comes here," he agrees. "I trust him out of hours about as far as I could throw him. Did he give you trouble?"

"Of course he did, he's a fuckin' red bastard!" Scout says with anger before drinking the beer Medic got him - a little sullenly at first, but beer makes it better.
