While Teja is reading, a small white paw may reach around the edge of the table, catch its claws in the crust of the dark bread, and slowly, carefully pull it down to the floor.
Teja reaches for the bread while he turns a page, does not find it, gropes around on the table until he deigns to lift his eyes from the page, sees no bread, and looks around, puzzled.
