Constantly devising lessons for a thirteen year old girl can be complicated, particularly for a girl such as Mary Lennox.
On occasion a man (or a wolf, or an andain) may wish to read something a little less scholastically oriented.
On the other hand, said man (or wolf, or andain) is occasionally Galadan, which means that his reading of choice is nothing like an adventure tale.
Or if it is, it's one that reflects the current age's world view in miniature. And verse.
It is certainly an interesting perspective on the not-too-distant past. But factual?
Hardly.
How -- unsurprising.
His posture at the table seems casual enough, though he doubtless has a weather eye on the room. Or a weather ear, as the case may be.
