Justin got into trouble again on his last shift so he's playing it safe today. The Specials board simply reads;

Alcohol

It's possible he's in a bit of a mood.

'Bar's open.'

[OOC: After midnight, slowtime, yay!]

skadi, bartending, justin taylor, sameth, renee montoya, mia ausa

"I'd indulge, except it wouldn't be good for who's kicking at my insides," Mia says as she carefully takes a seat.

Some of her hair is twisted and that waitrat still hasn't come with her lunch.

'You look like you're much further along,' he remarks, sliding off his stool.

'How's it going?'

"Just past the halfway point and he's letting me know it. And other than wishing Draco would come home from work for a lunch break, I'm fine."

She idly starts twirling at her hair again.

"What's the next best thing to the special, in your opinion?"

'A milkshake. Or smoothie.'

Can't go wrong with either of them and they're even sorta kinda healthy. Well, they have some healthy ingredients in them.

'You know for sure it's a boy?'

"I'll take a smoothie, then. With Lunar strawberries and Earth limes."

A hand goes to her belly.

"Demeter has said he would be a boy and, when we went for the ultrasound, Doctor Sandhu said it looks like she's right."

She gets out a newer ultrasound picture and shows it to Justin.

"We got to see him suck his thumb and yawn."

'Cool!'

He takes a look at the ultrasound, then shakes his head.

'I don't know how they can tell from these things.'

"I'm not too sure either. I guess learning how is part of becoming a doctor. At least it was easier to see the baby this time around."

She traces his facial features.

"We're going to name him Cepheus."

'That's...nice.'

He preferred the other options she had mentioned before but it's not his place to say so.

'What does it mean?'

"It's the name of a king, but one of the reasons we like it in particular is because there's a tiny star from Draconis in the constellation."

'Oh, that's cool.'

Makes more sense now.

'There are so many kids that just have stupid names, y'know? It's nice when they mean something.'

"You think Cepheus is a stupid name?"

It is an important question to ask.

"Well, it's not completely hopeless. Worst case scenario, we could always call him C for short. And if he ends up anything like Draco, the kids at school might just call each other by their last names."

'No no, I didnt say that!'

He holds his hands up as if to defend against his own remarks.

'Not stupid. Because like you said, it has some meaning. It's not what I'd name a kid but that's just personal preference.'

He wonders whether little C would like to be known only as 'Malfoy' and decideds, if he takes after his father, he'd probably be fine with it. But that's not really fair, he acknowledges to himself.

Or possibly even only "Ausa," knowing what is expected at home.

"I was just asking. I know it's not a very common name, but I like it and I want to keep up Draco's family traditions, especially after he sacrificed so much just to be with me."

He shrugs, casual.

'If you like it, that's all that matters. It's a parent's perogative to name their kids whatever they want. If it was regulated, no kid would ever get saddled with Pocahontas or...DeShawndra, or whatever.'

Some children, you just can't help feeling sorry for.

Mia blinks at those names.

"Yes, I don't think I'll be using those."

What are parents out there doing?

"Can I get a cup of ice with my smoothie?"

'No one should use those,' he says, emphatically.

Then remembers that yeah, he's supposed to be working and gets on with making her drink.

'Did you want a boy?'
